A Ridiculously Nourishing Lavender Homemade balm <3

Creating your own lavender balm at home is not only a delightful and rewarding experience but also a wonderful way to ensure that your skincare routine is filled with natural, nourishing ingredients. Lavender, known for its calming and healing properties, combined with the richness of beeswax, shea butter, and sweet almond oil, makes for a balm that your skin will love. Let’s dive into the process and explore the benefits of each ingredient. I have made this balm many times for friends presents and they have absolute loved it! So enjoy this gorgeous balm for yourself it’s also a brilliant gift idea!

Ingredients:

  • 18g (0.63oz) Beeswax

  • 40g (1.4oz) Shea Butter

  • 110g (3.88oz) Sweet Almond Oil

  • 1/4 tsp Lavender Essential Oil

  • 1/2 tsp Vitamin E Oil (optional)

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Start by setting up a clean, organized workspace. You’ll need a double boiler or a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water, a spatula, and containers for your finished balm.

  2. Melt the Beeswax: Place the beeswax in the double boiler and gently melt it over low heat. Beeswax acts as a natural emulsifier, helping to bind the ingredients together while providing a protective barrier on the skin.

  3. Add Shea Butter and Sweet Almond Oil: Once the beeswax is melted, add the shea butter and sweet almond oil. Stir continuously until everything is fully melted and combined. Shea butter is renowned for its moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties, making it perfect for soothing dry, irritated skin. Sweet almond oil is rich in vitamins A and E, which help to nourish and soften the skin.

  4. Incorporate Essential Oils: Remove the mixture from heat and allow it to cool slightly before adding the lavender essential oil and optional vitamin E oil. Lavender essential oil is celebrated for its calming scent and its ability to promote skin healing and reduce inflammation. Vitamin E oil adds an extra layer of antioxidant protection, helping to preserve the balm and enhance its skin-loving benefits.

  5. Pour and Set: Pour the mixture into your prepared containers. Allow the balm to cool and solidify at room temperature. Once set, your lavender balm is ready to use!

The Benefits of Lavender Balm

Lavender balm is more than just a skincare product; it’s a holistic remedy that nurtures both body and mind. The soothing aroma of lavender essential oil can help reduce stress and anxiety, promoting a sense of calm and well-being. When applied to the skin, lavender balm can help heal minor cuts, burns and insect bites thanks to anti inflamatory and antiseptic properties.

The combination of beeswax, shea butter, and sweet almond oil creates a deeply moisturizing balm that protects and nourishes the skin. Beeswax forms a protective barrier that locks in moisture, while shea butter and sweet almond oil penetrate deeply to hydrate and soften the skin. This makes the balm particularly beneficial for dry, chapped skin, providing long-lasting hydration and relief.

A Personal Touch

Making your own lavender balm is a beautiful way to connect with the natural world and take control of your skincare routine. Each time you use the balm, you’ll be reminded of the care and intention that went into creating it. Whether you’re soothing dry hands, calming irritated skin, or simply enjoying the relaxing scent of lavender, this balm is a testament to the power of natural ingredients and the joy of handmade skincare.
